In Te Maunga we went swimming. We learnt how to go side to side from floating on our back. My favourite part about swimming was doing side to side when you were on your back. I learnt that when you are on your back be calm so you won’t sink.
Kia ora! I am a year 4-5 student in Te Maunga at Paihia School, New Zealand. My teachers are Mrs Pou and Mr Ngata.

Maori Art
In Te Maunga we have been learning about art. We drew our maunga in our books for a practise and then coloured it in with pastel. My favourite part about this artwork was coloring my art in with pastel. I learnt how to draw hard Maori patterns.
Tsunami Warning
On Friday March 5 me and my mum evacuated because of the tsunami. We went up to my nans and papas that had a big hill but it was in Kaikohe. The best part of the evacuation was that I could hang out with my mum by myself. I learnt that when you see or hear the alarm you need to move fast.
